Now that was a little suprising. Nothing explicit has been mentioned in the books.
“Grindelwald’s aunt, Bathilda Bagshot, says of their meeting: “The boys took to each other at once.” “
Ok that isnt explicit. Rowling reportedly said “she found it “freeing” to out Dumbledore, adding that the passages about him will mean different things to different readers.” And ““I think a child will see a friendship and I think a sensitive adult may well understand that it was an infatuation,” Rowling said.”
Hmm..as for me I dont care if he is gay or straight. He is an adorable character. Period.

I made a three day trip to Kerala last weekend and it was amazing…for more reasons than one. We didn’t get any train tickets and therefore had to settle for a private bus. It was an a/c volvo. I was unimpressed by the way it was maitained particularly when compared to KSTRC volvos which are surprsingly well maintained. Hm..something is wrong here. A private company fucks up it’s maintainance of buses while the state owned buses are neat and well maintained. Usually it’s the other way round. Anyway, We go to Kochi after a 12 hour bumpy ride and I could not get a wink of sleep…for more reasons than one, bad seats, uncomfortable position, mosquitos, etc. We stayed at hotel on M.G road in Kochi which was quite decent and I believe reasonably priced. We went to nearby water falls the name of which I cant quite remember but I think it is Athirampally. It was quite a whoa moment. But I could not quite enjoy it because my head felt like it was going to split any moment(lack of sleep, too tired??). Anyway was quite nice and it was also a minitrek too when we went near the bottom of water falls. we spent around 3 hours and by the time we were back to kochi we were very tired. We had planned to visit an elephant training centre on the way but dropped it for we were just too tired.

The next day was the best day of the three days. A full day exploring the famed backwaters. Morning it was on a boat house, it was breathtaking. It also rained lightly. Nothing stormy or anything, a nice peaceful drizzle. It was magical. You have got see and experience it to know how beautiful it can be. I felt one with nature. Ofcourse I had loads of fun with my friends too but I managed to steal a few moments for myself and enjoy the blissful peace and quiet of nature.

The third day was so so. We went around Kochi town visited something called a Dutch palace and Chinese fishing net. Not impressed by the former and slightly impressed by the latter. We went to the the elephant training centre that we missed on the first day. Nothin quite impressive. But if you like to see elephants it is worth paying a visit.

That was it. We came back to Bangalore the next morning. Again it’s not particularly pleasant thing to sit in rickety-rackety bus with mosquitos. But it was worth it. I had a good time. Love to go again.

Indians dont drive. They let out thier frustrations and act out thier fantasies on road. They turn restlessly, twist, wiggle, muscle, hit, spit, talk endlessly, while they drive or ride. About a thousand people die in road accidents in Bangalore alone. Is that a frightening statistic? I worked out the math. About 70 lakh people, 30 lakh vehicles, ( rough estimate), turns out about 1.5 people in 10000 die in an accident. And I compared it to the american vehicle death statistics and it turns out they are just about the same. This is very surprising. The Indian national average is much much higher ofcourse(I just couldnt get the actual stats on google). But even accident rate shouls be higher considering the way people drive around here. Believe me, its scary. But it does not seem to be so. Perhaps some deaths go unreported. But regardless of the death rate, people here are extremely rude and follow no particular rules while driving. It’s all intuitive. For people who seek discipline and order it can be a nightmare. And I cringe at the thought of being on the road. It is a very scary thing that I have do every fucking day. It looks like I am not much at risk of dying in an accident in bangalore(well according to calculation as above anyway) but it is still not worth it to be on a two wheeler anyway. Cars are a safer option. And the safest is probably the big BMTC buses but not very convinient. And plus you have remember if you have a reasonably well paying job you would be expected to travel in your own vehicle(it’s a status thing very in built into the Indian psyche). For all the hype and hoopla around Bangalore’s growing economy, I have just two words..Fuck It. It’s not worth living in bangalore being stuck in a traffic jam or worrying about getting into an accident 1/3rd of your working day. Am I saying other Indian cities are better? Hardly Hyderabad, calcutta and chennai are just as bad if not worse. Delhi is definitely worse with all the Killer Buses making news these days am sure its worse. Which leaves us with Mumbai. I have heard people are better followers of traffic rules in mumbai, but I am just too skeptical about it. Maybe they do, but again probably marginally. But Mumbai is also prone to terror attacks by the way. The last attack on the Mumbai “life lines” killed 200 people. But hey people safety is never an issue for us really is it? We just have too many people in this country and can afford to give up a few lives for lack of discipline, eh?

Two words can sum it all up…still evolving. If you are single and expect to find other singles at bar in Bengaluru, you can easily forget it. I went out again with M yesterday and I completely broke all the rules of Bengaluru Bar Scene(BBS). First you are not supposed to talk with any body you dont know. But I was sick of not knowing these people, wondering what they do. Ok I am kind of being wierd here. It’s not exactly a place to socialize and make friends but what the heck, I wasnt gonna get laid with a stranger in this BBS anyway, so I might as well make some new friends. Other couples, to be exact, because you can forget about finding single people here. For the record, M and I are not dating. We are good friends and like to go out sometimes(especially when M’s boyfriend isnt in town). Hmm..so I broke the most sacred BBS rule and turned my night out into a ‘making friends with strangers’ deal. Or atleast I tried. I succeeded partially. I found some nice people..one a short, pudgy little girl who seemed more like a miniature elephant who danced surprisingly in an elephantine way. You know like two legs criss-crossing sorta like a mini elephant. The other woman was definitely the type who is strong, confidant and generous. She really indulged me. I would give her a 7 rating in looks and a solid 9 in personality. Perhaps someone I would like to talk to again if we run into each other. Now I wasnt expecting every fucking body to be nice and clearly some were not. Here goes:-
1) Annie(I swear that’s her name, she spelt it out for me), the fashion designer. About 24 years old. She was pretty but did absolutely nothing for me. Its strange that you would find somebody pretty but yet be not interested in a sexual way. That was enough for me to initiate conversation with her(no pressure, I love it). So clearly our “Annie” was a phony. A Hindu no doubt who probably has a name some perhaps like Anjali, Anjana, or even Annapoorna desperate to hide her “middle class sounding” name. I was instantly put off by someone who has anglicize to her name. Common, its 6 decades of independence. Still got the colonial complex? Didnt want to carry on. Said a few pretty sentences and excused myself.
2) The lesbian couple(atleast I thought they were because they kissed on the lips). Hmm..now I am not sure whether I like them or not. They were incredibly polite and nice at the beginning. I was so imprssed with them for one has IIMA MBA and the other a CA. Plus they were goodlikng about a 7.5, I guess. But I wasnt too sure when a goodllooking guy joined in(he clearly had some sorta nexus with the supposed lesbian couple) and the conversation turned towards a foursome. Excuse me, but I am rather plain vanilla. But good luck with the foursome for you three, I hope you found your fourth missing element.
Hmm.. not bad. I chatted up with two nice straight women, a lez couple and a dude who wants foursome and came out without any serious consequences. But I admit I made a mistake. A BBS isnt a place to make friends. That’s what internet, the foriegn language courses, the gym, yoga, etc are for. Make no mistake BBS does not allow you to meet with other singles, period. I did have a good time other wise, M dances very well and it _certainly_ helps that she is a solid 9 in looks department.
