Galipata

This movie is a big joke. I cant believe I watched it.

It has everything in it. Straight man, straight woman, a gay man, a lesbian woman, a pig, a widow, a disabled person, a skinny, freakish looking woman(Bhavana), a silly looking guy that can sing sad songs and a funny gorrilla that can blow a whistle. It has one nice song and plenty of terribly emabarassing drama.

Digant’s character is  unambigously gay and his love interest is a lesbian woman(Neetu).  Even thier looks match thier characters. Digant being too pretty and Neetu looking all butch. Never got the point of those two being in “love” though. I believe Digant can be a very good actor in serious, dark and intense roles. He definitely has potential, not to mention those perfect good looks. But this role is a total waste for that guy. He should choose his roles carefully otherwise he would endup looking liking a silly buffoon that he was in the movie. Neetu’s character is such a lovely adorable lesbian though (I love lesbians).

There are no pretty women in the movie. Daisy Bopanna, arguably beautiful,  looks like a perfect example of beauty in an  evolutionary psychology way( too feminine and too voloptous , wow, those breasts are HUGE).

An then there is the pig, which perhaps is what the movie is all about. Or is it? Or is it about silly inane jokes? Or is it nothing? Is it an illusion, a chimera? A nightmare perhaps? One would never know.

Smelly Guy, Smelly Baby

January 25, 2008

Whoa! A guy at my office smelt pretty bad with all that under arm odour. Did he just decide “I have such nice natural smell. I should spread this around the office. No reason why all this wonderful fragrance should go waste. Right?”.  I am sure you drive your freaky girl friend wild, sir,  with your sweaty shirt. But please spare the rest of us for  existing in the space as you do. Man, It was worse than Priya’s smelly baby that was pooping nonstop the other day. Which reminds me, Boy do babies smell!!!. Sometimes nice, infact very nice. You feel like smelling them all day. But then they poop or throw up and endup smelling like garbage. My only thought at the time was to get away from there without dropping the baby.

NO NO, Nano

What in the name of God was Ratan Tata thinking when he decided it would be a good idea to let poor people buy a smelly little car and cause more traffic jams not to mention accidents than ever before? I am quite sure poor people are worse drivers simply because they are uneducated and dont value thier life as much as they ought to. Sure this nano thingy looks cute, but it wont be when everybody in town owns one of these. I cant understand the positive media coverage it has been getting. WTF? I mean WTF? Are people crazy? Dont they understand it is gonna make thier lives miserable than it already is? Am I the only one worried about the traffic jams? Is it a uniquely Bangalorean problem? I hope it is banned in Banaglore at least. It is simply not acceptable. I go crazy in the traffic as it already is. Now this? WTF? WTF? WTF?

Bheemeshwari..A lil trip

January 6, 2008

Bheemeshwari is a nice little spot close to Bangalore. About 3 hours away from Bangalore. Managed by the Karnataka government it is quite nice in a non adventourish way. There are possibly adventure opportunities too. But since there were a few kids along with us, we just did a lil “trek”, if you can call that.

A view from the watch tower which is a top a hill. Basically climbing up to the hill via a fairly unstrenuous path was our trek.

A view from watch tower

Then we had fun some on large net like thingies that sprawled between huge trees. It is fun until you realize you are quite high above the ground and if the net breaks, you might as well break your bones if not your neck.

A lil ride in tiny lil round boat like thingy(called Teppa in Kannada)  in the river was nice. I let my hand into the river all the time and it had become quite cold by the end of the ride.

All in all not bad. Well frankly it was a lil bland. And I could have used some adventure and most importantly company of people who like that kind of thing. It can be quite a drain to look at people who dont enjoy the nature the same way that you do.
