Some americans complain about all the outsourcing that’s been taking away thier jobs to countries like India and China. What most americans do not perhaps realize is that only the worst routine jobs are outsourced to countries like ours where people like me sit 8 hours doing practically nothing but move around snippets of code a bit here, a bit there and go home feeling like one more part of me died today. I mean I am not even talking about tech support or call center jobs here. I am talking about “real” jobs those coveted jobs of a Software Developers. Most americans unless they are extremely ugly with absolutely no social skills wouldnt touch these jobs with a ten feet long stick. The “good stuff” of managing and making policies that make people feel like crap, oh yes, they still are very much held by americans. Not that I care too much about a management position but americans do and those jobs are very much in america and havent gone anywhere. Dear americans should’nt feel too bad about losing out a few soulless jobs because, you see those jobs are just too miserable to be actually done by you. You should just go ahead and get some degrees in lawyering, or public relations or international relations or perhaps gender studies? And ofcourse make the world a better place to live in after that?

This is a common misconception fostered by corporate propaganda. It’s the same logic that rich people use to justify hiring illegal aliens to do their house and yard work. The real truth is that in the US it is against the law to pay someone so little, it’s not Americans won’t do the work.

It makes me laugh … !! very well written and very well answered.
My exp tells me call center job has just got the hipe… while the capitalists make billions. when a common man’s job get stuck because of these crazy tecno tec he gets frustrated … even more as he is loosing his hard earned money on calls to a country unknown… this created tension and politicians took advantage of it to do a little bit of PR.
lets say no one’s suffering … we in India have got jobs. where as the Capitalist Americans make billions. and the public doesn’t really care as far as their job gets done smoothly.
